I.Am is my 3rd full length album and it's my most honest one. Honesty and vulnerability is something looked as 'weakness' in many situations but I've grown to learn that for me – it's a strenght and a power. So in order to be as honest as I could I decided to return to the 'live' sound, strip back the band, write from my heart and tell my stories. 

I had noticed that I was focusing on what I didn't have, instead of all the great things I had done. When I looked at why, I quickly realised that I was comparing myself to the world around me and started to question why I wasn't 'doing as well'. Realising how much that disturbed my peace and work flow made me stop and really look at what I was doing to myself. 

I.Am is a result of that inner look and being true to yourself, and I've learnt that making music is a snapshot of where you are in that moment. It's a journey, it's full of different stories and we should really celebrate it as we travel along it. 

The album will take you through a groovy and uplifting journey from Released, a song about her relationship with herself to a cheeky Didn't you know about how women secretly emotionally run relationships to Brave, a song about facing your failures and getting back up to try again to Blunt-ly, a song about not holding back but saying what you think. 

I have been working with a group of incredible musicians where the base is a trio featuring 
pianist Alex Bennett, a groove based musician who brings beautiful voicings and a lovely sensitivity, Tom Mason on electric bass who creates the solid foundation but has the most incredible harmonic understanding and wonderful timing and finally Laurie Lowe on drums who is the technical virtuoso but with soulfulness and incredible phrasing.

All songs are written by Cecilia Stalin but songs 6 & 7 are co-written with London based pianist Joe Armon-Jones and songs 2, 4 & 9 is co-written with Bennett/Lowe/Mason.
